Mandy Gutmann is a versatile and award-winning communications and community development executive working at the nexus of sports, entertainment, media, government, technology and the non-profit world. She is an expert at driving business growth through powerful storytelling, protecting brands' reputations, creating community partnerships, mentoring talent, and building internal communications systems.
Most recently, Gutmann served as Executive Vice President of Communications and Community Relations at BSE Global properties, including Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Nets and their NBA G League team, the Long Island Nets, and their NBA 2K League affiliate, NetsGC. As part of her role, she oversaw all aspects of corporate communications implementing new strategies for reaching both internal and external stakeholders.
During her time at BSE from 2012 through 2022, Gutmann played an integral role in the launch of the Brooklyn Nets brand after the team’s move from New Jersey, the grand opening of Barclays Center in 2012, the re-opening of the historic Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, and the re-opening of the iconic music venue, Webster Hall.
While overseeing community and government relations at BSE, Gutmann led the company’s response efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included converting Barclays Center into a food pantry to feed 30,000 people and a voting site for the 2020 Presidential Election. She also spearheaded the creation and implementation of an art curriculum that is now taught in more than 100 New York City Public Schools.
Gutmann was named in 2019 and 2022 by Crain’s New York Business as a Notable Women in Sports. She is
also a proud Stonewall Ambassador for the charitable giving organization of the historic Stonewall Inn, the site of the 1969 riots that launched the gay rights movement.
